Who You Are
You are a compassionate and supportive individual who is committed to providing care and assistance to young people aged 16 and over. You have a patient demeanor and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You are comfortable with maintaining professional boundaries and handling various situations with empathy and calmness.
What the Job Involves
The role involves supporting young people who are largely self-sufficient but may need assistance with shopping, cooking, and spending time with staff. You will conduct three welfare checks per shift, either in person or by phone. You will document interactions, noting the young person’s activities and the support provided. A lone worker device is used, and a full induction will be given to ensure staff are well-prepared and supported in their role. Conflict resolution by avoiding confrontation is an important aspect of the job.
