Who You Are
As a motivated and ambitious property lawyer, you bring expertise in property law and conveyancing. You are a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales, Barrister, CILEX, or equivalent, with at least one year’s post qualification experience. You thrive in a collaborative environment, possess a can-do attitude, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset. You are open, honest, and respectful, able to listen and learn from others, and are committed to making a real contribution to the community.
What the job involves
This role involves delivering quality legal advice to support the core functions of the Council and its partners, addressing an increased programme of property acquisitions. You will handle a legal caseload including freehold and leasehold conveyancing, acquisitions and disposals, and other property-related legal work. Responsibilities include advising client officers, preparing reports, undertaking legal research, mentoring colleagues, and advising elected members. The role expects you to ensure high in-house standards and value for money for the Council while providing exemplary service to internal clients, schools, and Local Authority Trading Companies.
